Thanks Dario for the reply, unfortunately I did copy that file as
well
and still have a no go.
I have copied /etc/passwd /etc/master.passwd and /etc/pwd.db to
customroot/etc.
I do a make clean; make iso and I cannot login as the user that I
have
created.
Also, I have tried to set the root passwd like so:
sandbox# chroot /usr/local/freesbie-fs/ /usr/bin/passwd root
Changing local password for root

Retype New Password:
sandbox#
sandbox# cat /usr/local/freesbie-fs/etc/master.passwd

After I make the ISO and boot from this image, I type root at the
login
prompt and
it gives me shell, no passwd. If I try to login as the user lee
with my
passwd no go.
After I log in as root I try to do passwd lee and the systems says
there is no user lee.
Some bit of info is not getting cloned or something is getting
written
over during that process.
Thanks,
Lee
Can you check if:
- the customroot plugin is activated AND
- it is listed _before_ etcmfs plugin or not?
Here is my conf/freesbie.conf line.
# Set EXTRA variable to the additional plugins you want to run in your
# system. Please note that plugins are executed in the same order as
# listed in this variable
#
EXTRA="customroot rootmfs etcmfs"
Thanks,
Lee
Bye,
Dario
