Matt reported sound problems (sound not being present?) on Win32 recently;
there are no fundamental problems, though, as it still works fine on my
box.
Does the Win32 sound server currently transfer the songs (when doing bulk
transfer) themselves, or just references to the songs? The new resource manager
frees resources after they haven't been used for a while, unless they're
locked, so just keeping a reference is not sufficient.
We could change this, of course, although we'd have to be careful not to
lock too much. We'd also have to introduce capability flags for sound
servers, since the UNIX sound server should remain functional on systems
that don't have SHM support.
Which we should also add- eventually.
