Um, MIDI doesn't work in terms of ticks -- that's the SCI interpreter.
MIDI works as fast as the wire can take things (14400 baud), which is
why the delta times are all specified in ms, not in ticks.
So if the sound is slow, it's because you're sleeping longer than the
delta time between notes.
