No, the song is transferred (i.e. copied) ATM, so there is no need to do
that. There will be if we use/can use SHM, i.e. later.

Alpha/Linux 2.2.10 with ALSA 0.9.0betax, where x in {3..6}, no special
defines enabled.
I tested the last version from Chris' CVS, which worked fine.

Output to the sound device file descriptor is noticeably different; I
mirrored writes in a separate file and compared them (I have no access to
the files from here, though). Will try to have a closer look at it on
monday, if possible.
