It's obvious that we need (for Mac support, at least, possibly even for OS X support, and because it'll just make things a whole lot more convenient) support for a non-forked sound server (similar to what our DOS sound server used to do), the open question is whether to implement this right away, or to implement an MCI hack first to get better MIDI on Win32 'fast' by slightly modifying our sound architecture. > - In the latest CVS (although the latest sound changes were made just a > little while back) adlib support was added, correct? Yes. Starting up with -Madlibemu should activate that. > I cannot get the win32e > or win32p mt32gm stuff to playback any music at all right now. This could be related to bug #342 (SQ3 having a volume of zero during startup). I have no idea why this is happening, though... please try setting the in-game volume. > Just latest note on the subject matter (and continuing information to help > encourage everyone to "keep up the good work!") Well, the dev kit will only be available in Japan and in the US, as far as I know, and a PS2 isn't exactly available for free quite yet, so I'm certainly not going to do anything to help here, although I'd be happy support any efforts going in this direction. > Good luck with everything! Thanks! llap, Christoph
