Hi, I've noticed that freesci slows down a lot after moving around a bit. It's _very_ noticable on a slow computer (i.e. my 180MHz O2) after only a few minutes, especially in scenes with lots of animation. On faster systems (e.g. my 600MHz PIII), it takes a lot longer until the slowdown is relevant, but it's also noticable, especially at the fastest speed setting.
I don't currently have a working profiler on any of my boxes (and that's probably not going to change until I get my hands on official debian woody CDs...), so I'd really appreciate if someone else could look into this. The slowdown doesn't coincide with increased memory use. BTW, has anyone on the list finished LSL2? I can't get on the moving sidewalk (can walk there, but don't get moved out this room) in either Linux or IRIX, although gfx_show_map 2 shows a red line there. regards, rainer
