I know this sounds pathetic, but I'd need access to a slow but reliable box with a local display to test that; lacking this, I don't feel qualified to do any profiling. Could you please try FreeSCI on the O2 again with the "--without-sound" configure flag? This should completely disable the sound subsystem (including any communication to it, i.e. some cues will be lost, which will cause problems; most well-known are the ones in SQ3 and in the HQ1 char selection screen. > I don't currently have a working profiler on any of my boxes (and that's > probably not going to change until I get my hands on official debian woody > CDs...), so I'd really appreciate if someone else could look into this. > The slowdown doesn't coincide with increased memory use. OK. If no one else has any time to look into this, I'll try to see if I can get my hands on a box for testing on friday or saturday. > BTW, has anyone on the list finished LSL2? It's supposed to have been finished, but I've never completed it myself... llap, Christoph
