Hey everyone. Thanks for the replies. I still can't update to latest CVS. That said -
I tried some more combinations in the config file. I cannot get ANY sound using mt32gm as my midi device. That is the primary problem I have been having for some time now. I was able to use the mt32gm just fine up until about February 1st this year. Now recall that in my last post, my sound was reported by win32mci_stream to be 0 voices in my hardware devices (External MIDI and built in DLS synth). Microsoft synth wouldn't work either. Okay - I changed over to mt32 and I can get sound through my hardware AND software in that mode. While it is not quite accurate "beatwise", I hear sound, and the songs are recognizable. (This is all on SQ3) Note: I have no resource errors whatsoever on startup from Space Quest 3. Freesci loads it flawlessly. I also fired up that win32b thing for fun - it blew threw the entire song in less than three seconds. (At least...that is what it sounded like) All sorts of instruments were playing extremely fast & the program just crashed at the end of the "song." I know this is probably W.I.P. right now, but just fyi - I had sound with it....and that is definitely a good thing. (for me) So I guess the mt32gm is out on me right now. Sound has obviously been worked on a lot recently (many updates by you guys). My CVS is from a few days ago, so I definitely do not have all the latest stuff. Side note - this has always been an exciting project to follow, and it has been fun to see it continue to improve. So despite the fact I am always reporting "issues" with my builds, I am not complaining one bit and hope you keep up the good work! Thanks, - Chris _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
