Just use the license file from your previous version (or you can apply for
a new license for free, but this is redundant).

cp $OLD_FREESURFER_HOME/.license $NEW_FREESURFER_HOME/.license
where the $OLD and $NEW are directories freesurfer 5.1 and 5.2 sit,
respectively.
