No. At least I wouldn't, and I put it in.  It has always been a
placeholder.  But there must be something (just about 3-4 low level calls)
for windows to use.  My intent has been to integrate Hamlib all along.

I don't know why not.  I had what seemed to me to be good reasons for using
2.9x on the Windows side at the time.  But I never used them.

I think that Bruce tried to backport things, and I understood that he
encountered some problem.  I never heard what it was.

Nothing that I know of.  My real reason was that the Windows version was
not completely in sync with the Linux version ~1yr ago, and I wanted to be
certain that the Windows version had all the functionality present in
WxWidgets 2.8x for Linux.

No, not me anyway.  Never touch the stuff.  I will not participate in a
typing race where I just make everyone else angry. Email is painful enough.
