FYI, the CMSIS v3.01 files in: ./stm32/STM32F4xx_DSP_StdPeriph_Lib_V1.1.0/Libraries/CMSIS/
have since been superseded by v3.20, which seems to have somewhat fixed (or at least changed) the license terms (as well as some other improvements). Getting to those source files is a major headache, though. One must go to ARM's web site and register for "Silver" access. Then one must go to: www.arm.com/cmsis in order to "download specifications". After authenticating with the Silver username credentials, one must then click to agree to the END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT, which has some onerous terms. The downloaded file is a .zip that contains documentation and source. The source then has licenses embedded in the source with seemingly more permissive terms. So, it seems to imply that an entity can download the whole file, separate out the files with more permissive terms and redistribute just those, but I'm not a lawyer. It is enough to make one's head spin. On 5/22/2013 7:29 PM, Bruce Perens wrote: > The code from ST Microelectronics is going to need a bit of copyright > cleanup, though.
