FOUND IT! I had forgotten that the FindwxWidgets cmake module in 2.8 did not correctly handle cross-compiling! When it sees WIN32 it assumes windows instead of unix style paths!
The quick fix it to change your system file but remember to reapply the patch if it gets updated: http://www.cmake.org/gitweb?p=stage/cmake.git;a=patch;h=33286235048495ceafb636d549d9a4e8891967ae We could also put a copy in our cmake directory but I would want to put version detection on it so we only use it if we're dealing with an older version of cmake.
