A couple of questions...
Did you build and install codec2-dev first? By default fdmdv2-dev does a
static build of codec2-dev (and speex).
I am a fan of removing any duplicate headers and it has been discussed in
the past, I would have to go back into the list archives for the rationale
but IIRC it makes development a bit easier to have them there.
