You guys may remember about a year ago I suggested moving the codec2 source
from svn to git.  We made this change about 2 years ago and git is so much
better than svn it makes me wonder how we ever did source control another
way.  As a developer, it is a huge breath of fresh air.  But, git is
different.  You shouldn't be thinking in terms of a tag folder, etc.
because it works so differently.  I would be happy to host the project in
github (I already host several open source repositories for the mmtty, etc.
projects) and will gladly help with the migration, startup and answering
questions about how to use git because it is so different, if that would be
useful.

I have already done the codec2 migration once since we are hosting our own
version that we have ported into an open source repo here:
https://github.com/n5ac/smartsdr-dsp

This repo has all the codec2 code and also our open source wrapper for
smartsdr, but you get the idea and can see the code in git and can view the
branch structure we are using.  I currently host 24 github repos this way,
a large number of private and several public.
