Hi Alan,
Yes, we have the FreeDV Beacon, it's set up and running:
https://www.rowetel.com/?p=4820
We're planning an upgrade to 700D as well. There's a website where you
can download wave files of yr received audio - contact me off list of
for the URL.
It would be great to see others set up on other bands.
Activity is picking up, see qso.freedv.org, and IRC #freedv. I just
worked VK2 on 40M, and VK5 on 20M
Cheers,
David

Hi David and all,
How about a parrot repeater?
It's very frustrating when say on 10m or 6m there's Sporadic E
propagation and there's nobody on the other end. I trigger the repeater
but since I'm only half duplex on my end, I have no idea what MY audio
sounds like. All I hear is the repeater tail and it's callsign in morse.
Conceptually, a Parrot repeater is very simple. No duplexer is required.
Only a simplex radio. A computer box that detects sync, saves the signal
for up to two mins does the FEC and resends the signal when Rx sync stops.
I'm not that good with "C++" to "go right ahead" and do it.
Any thoughts?
