With the dmlinking code you can also get one up pretty quick.
I've used the eth_ar code to set up a node on the DML network. I've personally only used the analog (old fashioned FM) and 2400B modes, but it has support for any FreeDV mode. If you connect it to a DML echo reflector (can be done automaticly) you are done. You might need to tweak the 'squelch' code a bit. With the 2400B mode I noticed that the lib would claim a sync a bit to soon sometimes, and I added a bit of hysteresis. The values are pretty arbitrary and might need to be tweaked for different modes.

Be carefull though: depending on regulations you might need a special license for such a parrot. I know for sure that such a station in the Netherlands is not allowed with my regular license. The regulations here would be comparable to setting up a repeater.

Hi all,

Can I ask again:
    How about a parrot repeater?

I'm not asking someone to do it, I'm asking is there any
support for the idea.

Showing support for the idea could very well enthuse someone
to do the code. I'll be happy to setup the hardware.

Hi all,

How about a parrot repeater?

It's very frustrating when say on 10m or 6m there's Sporadic E
propagation and there's nobody on the other end. I trigger the repeater
but since I'm only half duplex on my end, I have no idea what MY
audio sounds like. All I hear is the repeater tail and it's callsign
in morse.

Conceptually, a Parrot repeater is very simple. No duplexer is required.
Only a simplex radio. A computer box that detects sync, saves the signal
for up to two mins does the FEC and resends the signal when Rx sync stops.

I'm not that good with "C++" to "go right ahead" and do it.

Any thoughts?
