Hi Brian,

I'm not sure there's much else to do at the moment. If others start
reporting the waterfall issue, though, we can revisit this.

Anyway, I merged the previously discussed bugfix into the branch we've been
using for 1.8.0 builds, however, so the next test build generated will have
the fix.
