If you would like to see 8 and 16 bit versions of FreeDV, it's Open

What we are discussing is how to allocate our scarce maintainer
resources. Even Debian is desupporting 32 bits.
The fact is we might not have a single 32-bit FreeDV user. And the
maintainer(s) can have more time to work on robustness of the software,
and features, if that's the case. So realistic feedback on what is
actually on the air, rather than wishes and 'druthers, is to be desired.
I have a brand new palm-sized "laptop", the Lichee Console 4A. I will
not be asking Mooneer to make a compile for me.
In retrospect, perhaps we DO need to have the hobby and masses follow
along with what's commonly sold by WalMart, Office Depot, and get drug
along behind corporate profit/marketing whims, rather than push the
envelope while being broadly, and universally compatible to
whomever/whatever may come along next month, or operate for decades to come.
My mistake, I've been in the hobby too long.
