In analog AM/FM radios, the "voice passband" is generally considered to be 300-3000 Hz.

Has anyone here looked at the ACTUAL frequency range of the average voice?

Chances are, when people speak, they don't cover a 2700 Hz range, I'm thinking, maybe a few hundred Hz, at most.
