Originally www.newyen.com was supposed to be my main website. I had some
run-ins with the state of California about Newyen being very similiar to
"Nguyen, Inc.". I decided to change the name to Gnuyen instead.
The name came from two words: gnu and yen.
gnu - "Freedom"
yen - "There's no free lunch" or "currency in Japanese"
It's been long overdue, but here it is www.gnuyen.com. www.gnuyen.com is
powered by Linux Yen ES. Thanks go to a lot of people. The most
prominent goes Leon Atkinson, Shannon jj Berens, and Jon from Clearink. I
finally noticed Jon contributed a significant effort to FreeTrade as well
as handling a lot of the system administration work. Most of the time the
guy in the backroom goes unnotice.
You'll see a cute penguin in the financial district in SF passing out
flyers and holding sign to promote Linux Yen ES. And some time in the
month of April or May you might see Gnuyen vs Microsoft boxing skit in
front of Sproul Hall.
Time to kick some Microsofties ass.
Thank you!
Kent
