Ah, one thing to keep in mind about Google is that they don't index by
keywords. They rank pages by how many other pages point to them. Here's
how they explain it: (http://www.google.com/technology/index.html). They do
pay attention to keywords, but the keywords on the pages that has the link
to your site. That means that if you're only interested in getting
visitors, don't worry about FreeTrade having question marks in all the URLs.
(Try searching for 'index.php?SCREEN' in Google.) What you could do to help
yourself out, perhaps, is make a single page (searchterms.php) that dumps
the descriptions of all your products and points to your catalog pages. It
won't garantee good ranking necessarily, but it will get your pages in the
mix. And if your stuff is really unique, it will still show up first. (For
example, try searching for 'Random Generators').
Actually, a little script like this is a good idea for putting into the
standard distribution.
