Yes.  IMHO, it doesn't matter.

I don't know.  I've never used VS, and I'm rather confident that this
will not change :-) The VS files are contributed stuff that I maintain
only to a very limited extent (i.e., adding, changing, or renaming
source code files).  For this reason, I won't touch the contents due
to lack of knowledge – and interest, admittedly.

Do you have experience with VS?  Do you want to maintain the files?
