This is still bloody recent (four years) compared to the currently needed version 2.6 (nine years)...
Given that you don't have to provide support for contributed build systems, that shouldn't be too bad :)
The GNUInstallDirs macro became available only in 2.8.5. It is unfortunate that CMake only became good in the last few years, but such is life.
