Hello, I fully support Chistophe ideas. Freevo will go in right direction with separate core code that could be crossplatform (not only for Windows, also for BSD, BeOS...) and separate plugin architecture. Less in core code the better. In this way I think we could follow SDL and pygame to every OS/device they go.
By the way, great home assistant/automation program called Misterhouse is also crossplatform as Perl is (its base). Core code shares Windows, Linux and other stuff, users just incorporate different plugins for different platforms -and you know - it's success. The community is homogeneous despite fact that approx. half of its members use different OS. IMHO instead of saying "I don't care about Windows" is better to say "I don't care what OS you run, Freevo can get them all..." :-). What about giving out some OS specific hooks - like we're doing with different language strings ?
