Well, i would like to separate the ipod files from the rest of the music. Meaning, i would like to be able to browse only the ipod. Your prototype joins everything together since freevo uses the 'music' table to store all the music cache. That 'delete' does the trick but only until the next freevo cache runs, then all the music in the conf dirs would be thrown into the db. I'll try to put something togheter and then i'll get back to you.
