I use vesa driver and a motherboard VIA EPIA M 10000 with chipset CLE266.

In /boot/grub/menu.lst, I added video=vesafb:ypan on the kernel line.
When I run the command fbset -i, I see a change on YPanStep that turn to 1 :

Frame buffer device information:
    Name : VESA VGA
    Address : 0xd8000000
    Size : 3145728
    Type : PACKED PIXELS
    Visual : TRUECOLOR
    XPanStep : 0
    YPanStep : 1
    YWrapStep : 0
    LineLength : 2048
    Accelerator : No

When I run freevo, the 'Panning display failed" has disappeared but freevo still
stops:

(*) DirectFB/Core/WM: Default 0.2 (Convergence GmbH)
DirectFB layer config:
  buffermode: 4
  goemetry: 1024x768
  pixelformat: DSPF_RGB32
