There is a difference between the channel information in channel.conf and global channel stuff. The channels.conf should contain everything needed for tvdev (== kaa.record) to record something from a channel (this includes livetv). And freevo-tvserver together with kaa.epg should have more information. E.g. the same channel could be at different cards with a different setting in the channels.conf. The epg database could contain additional data like the epg. And yes, I want to support multiple tv_grab sources. One major source (e.g. xmltv) and secondary sources like the epg in the stream. But since the epg in the stream is still very bad (at least here in Germany), we need the additional source. And I don't know of a logo inside the transport stream. So basicly tvdev reads the channels.conf and sends the names to the tvserver. The tvserver has other unique names for a channel and has an epg db to be one interface to tv cards. That's the plan, but I don't have that much time right now so many things are missing.
