No. What I did is make it work for 4:3 movies in 16:9 windows. That did not work before in mplayer because of the scaling and in xine 16:9 windows were not possible because of the expand plugin. But it still uses the window aspect to do all this. The final goal would be to have a 800x600 window and tell popcorn that it is 16:9. But that is _not_ possible.
