I'm using freevo 1.7.0rc1 in Debian Sid, but the same problem occurs in 1.6.1.
Whenever I try to read the following feed, freevo shows a MENU_RIGHT error.
This is the feed, as I have it in local_conf.py:

I think that has now been fixed in svn, it is the same problem that has
been occuring in imdbfxd.
If you are still having this problem, try changing in site.py
(/usr/lib/python2.x/site.py) the encoding like to your locale, eg latin-1.
