Now this brings me to a question again: How can nxtvepg work in the 
background, with a configured tuner input, when it has to tune to the right 
channels to fetch data, and either the recordserver or the freevo live TV may 
be accessing the card, too?  (ivtv in my case, where there's still a 
concurrency problem already with the latter two in Freevo 1.x)

I hope that the answer starts with "That work, because ..."
Or does this maybe depend on whether I configure multiple providers?  (So that 
the nxtvepg daemon does not only tune once on startup?)
