Mplayer, xine, evas and gstreamer are all ported and quite a few Linux 
apps (especially scripted ones like Freevo) work out of the box on my Mac.

I don't see why Freevo wouldn't work almost out of the box with X11, and 
I doubt it's much more work to get the display engine aquafied.  Mplayer 
already has macosx native output.

Maybe when school calms a bit I'll try it.
