I prefer we take a more dispassionate approach to things like this.  The
software suggested by Ryan was discovered to violate zap2it's Terms of
Service, and that's really where the conversation should (and almost
did) end.

Nobody was intentionally advocating any dubious activities, and in any
case such things would not be endorsed by the project anyway.

Also, I must say, your experiences concerning the perception of Linux
users don't map onto my own even the slightest bit, and I have
interacted with a pretty significant variety of people.  So, my
sympathies, but I don't think your experiences are representative.
