Same here. You insert a disc and you want to see the movie info but
the disc itself does not provide enough information. What's missing in
some sort of freedb for DVDs. DVD Profiler can do this, but the db is
closed (and we should not reverse engine stuff to access their db, it
is not legal).

Not yet. I guess some sort of network kaa module would be a good idea
for it. So what do we need?

o Movie

  - Title and other info
  - List of sites + id, e.g. IMDB + IMDB ID and legal cover sites

o for each disc
  - Id
  - Track Info (who will add that data?)


We should talk to people creating DVB databases so we can help
each other. http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=dvd%20database and join
forces with freevo-like systems such as MythTV and the well known
windows based GPL media center I don't remember the name.
