Hi.
As freevo-1.9.2 is in beta state now, there is a question I'd like to make.
Right now, I'm using svn which is probably quite the same as beta. I'm also
using python-2.5 (which is supposed to be supported) and I have had a few
issues with it. There are open threads in this list, but those bugs aren't
likely to be solved, and I don't have the skill to do it myself. On the
other hand, my bugs (at least some of them) seem not to happen using
python-2.6. And, also, I have python-2.5 because it's a debian stable box,
but as you probably know, testing is in deep freeze and a new stable release
should be out "soon". Debian is probably the last big distro to have
python-2.5 as default.
So, to sum up, considering the bugs with 2.5, the developers working in
freevo and the requirements of (most) users... which python version is going
to be officially required? In my case, in my situation, I'd rather you
declare 2.5 officially unsupported.
Just my opinion.
thanks everybody, and Merry Xmas (or whatever)
Felices Fiestas
Alberto
