Actually, I just did a quick compare between the filesizes of the two dll directories (RPM and .tar.gz), and all the files differ in size. I believe that RPM does a strip and compress step during the packaging. By right they should still be equivalent, but I can't check as there're no symbols in the original tar.gz binaries so I don't know how to compare the two.
