Hi all, Now that I have my spiffy new Lirc receiver, I'm shopping around for a nice remote. I've played around with the ones I have around the house, but I don't have one that supports all/most buttons under any unused mode. Some don't/partially support the directional buttons, while others don't support the play/stop keys. I could just map any working key to do stuff, but I want keys that are marked for what they'll actually do. What are other people using? I've heard people talking about using universal remotes, but how did you know which device code to program into it so you would have the buttons you needed? Trial and error?
