I've also implemented Freevo on a SN41G2. Comments interspersed below.

I didn't use mine for the TV part of Freevo, but the onboard TV Out works
great for watching on TV. Includes a PCI and an AGP slot for upgrades. Yes,
space can be an issue.

I didn't find it that hard - but I'm quite familiar with this sort of upgrade
now.

I agree; this particular model is quite swanky, but also quite noisy, even
with the fan spinning at its lower setting. It's not too bad, but definitely
noticeable.

One other thing: The lovely blue power light on the front is bloody bright in
a darkened room. I had to leave the box sideways while watching stuff.

All in all, the box is great for what it was bought for (a semi-portable beast
for showing media for a club - usually in Uni theatres). I'd love to be able
to buy one for myself as a Games box, since it has the grunt, and room for a
Radeon 9800.

As a dedicated TV/VCR home theatre device, it's a little noisy, and, dare I
say it, rather large. (I'd love to see a similar design, but using Laptop
drives to cut the height down - not that I could afford that... ^_^)

Perhaps one of the Intel versions would be better suited. I read in a review
they run a little cooler & quieter - but they don't have the fancy nForce2
chipset onboard.

Same here. Got a silver FDD; still looking for a Multi-region DVD-ROM/CD-RW
Combo Drive with a silver faceplate. (Any suggestions??)

Mine is running Debian 3.0 with extra bits. ^_^

The "Remote" is a Logitech Wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I don't like the
mouse, but I love the keyboard. It has a wheel in the top-middle, which
freely rotates, with a keycode event each n degrees. I've set it up using
xbindkeys to control volume.

Does anyone know of a nice remote with this type of wheel? It's very
convenient for controlling volume quickly & easily.
