I have a SV24 running a Cyrix 800mhz cpu and 512mb ram. For a tuner I have one of the Hauppauge WinTV PCI cards, bt878 chipset. The SV24 uses the Savage4 video drivers. Redhat didn't automatically setup the s-video, and I'm no good with X to configure it properly... Mandrake 9.1 auto-setup the s-vid out, but for some reason it wouldn't display properly on my TV. Something with the resolution/frequency combination I was using.... Mandrake and Redhat both setup the bttv drivers properly. I never got around to actually running the Freevo software on the system, but I did test the generic tv viewing software that came with the OS, and that worked fine. So I imagine Freevo will work. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon...
