That's the one... I had the problem both inside and outside of Freevo.
It made using directfb pretty unusable. While using mga_vid isn't as
sharp, the motion doesn't give me a headache...

I reduced the brightness slightly and that solved that for me. The
menus worked nicely.

Check the matrox wiki; the matrox program and options I used fixed the
colors. You will need to load matroxfb_base to get the color fixing to
work, but not matroxfb_maven since that will break directfb.
