That's the one... I had the problem both inside and outside of Freevo. It made using directfb pretty unusable. Check the matrox wiki; the matrox program and options I used fixed the colors. You will need to load matroxfb_base to get the color fixing to work, but not matroxfb_maven since that will break directfb.
