I am still wrestling with my directfb setting for my g450 that I just
bought a few days ago. The Matrox do not automatically detect a TV even if
it is plugged into SVideo, which is really lame. It won't even show the
BIOS boot up cuz it waits for windows to take care of business for you.

The nvidia cards I have used work right out of the box. I was using a TNT2
but it had these annoying bands on the left and right of the screen which
squished the display. This got annoying so I'm praying the directfb will
work in the end.

If anyone has gotten the G450 working with directfb then I'd love to hear
about it. I wasn't able to open /dev/fb0 until just now when I recompiled
a 2.4.22 kernel and modprobed the matroxfb drivers manually.
