Hello freevo fans, my problem: I've spent my sb live an Hoontech I/O III extension with optical digital out. Passing through with mplayer to my ac3 receiver and the -ac hwac3 options works fine, if the audio stream of the movie is an ac3 track. But if I enable the options permanently in local_conf.py, I get no sound from avi movies with non ac3 tracks (eg. lame mp3 encoded ones). So I'm wondering if there is a solution for my problem.
My Ideas: Some options should be configurable in the freevo frontend. Maybe a lirc command could change the option with my remote. Switching this during playback would be nice or maybe an auto detection by mplayer but this wouldn't be safe (I guess) - or fallback to non hwac3, when audio codec detection fails. Any ideas or solutions around ? thanks, Thomas my system: 1.7GHZ Athlon XP, Gigabyte matx board, 384MB dxr3,sb live with digital IO extension, Hauppauge WinTV Realmagic Remote (great one, I love this remote because it's flawless, great range and very handy) freevo 1.4, mplayer 0.92, using the dxr3 for tv out (selfcompiled sdl lib). Base System: SuSE 8.0, Kernel 2.4.22 with acpi patches ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
