For the moment in 1.4.1 this is true. In cvs there has been an extension
that will allow you to run X apps if you are an X based setup. It uses a
FXD file to set it up. It will optionally spawn and kill a windowmanager
while the app is running. I use it now to watch nasatv using real
player, and have tested it as a replacement to the firebird plugin.
