I am having some issues with freevo regarding full-screen modes.
Firstly I am running a Matrox G550 graphics card using the mga_dev driver (which supports
back-end scaling) and works wonderfully well in mplayer (15% cpu usage on DVD's on a Duron 1.4G)
I have setup freevo/mplayer to use -vo xmga, freevo itself using x11.
My issues are:
1. I have set the local.freevo.conf file to start up freevo in full-screen mode. This only
works with freevo.conf setting x11, xv will not let freevo start full-screen.
2. With freevo in x11 mode and fullscreen watching a movie, when I exit the DVD (or TV for that
matter) I get my desktop bar showing for a few seconds before the screen changes back to fullscreen.
I would like to know how to get rid of that, as I would like to run freevo as standalone, and not see any computer UI at all.
3. On another issue, Does anyone have some good mencoder settings for encoding PAL with good quality and minimum disk space?
4. Lastly, When I am recording TV I do not get any sound. THis is proberly due to my card (A Winfast 2000 XP) not having it's sound channel reckonised by mplayer. I do hear the sound normally, as it is
wired into the line input of my sound card. Is there anyway for mencoder to encode sound of the sound card rather than directly off the TV card?
Many thanks for wading through that lot. Any help much appreciated.
