Well, I have the same here, and the resolution is not changed (still 800x600)
but the frequencies are... so the TV stop working :(

I have downloaded Freevo 1.3.4 and I will use it... it seems that newer version
won't work anymore for me: (

Why don't you use vidix ? If you have an ati board, you can use hw scaler
throught vidix driver even on fbdev oir vesa mode... look at mplayer doc at ATI
section :)


As you've already noted, this sort of configuration isn't exactly rock-stable. I never got vidix working properly - I had the same problems with it that you're having with with the latest Freevo. And since my machine has the guts to software-scale I never cared enough to try to get it going. It's working now - why muck around with it?
