Replying to me own mail ...
I've got the IVTV_OPTIONS set to:
IVTV_OPTIONS = {
'input' : 4,
# 'resolution' : '720x576',
'resolution' : '640x480',
'aspect' : 2,
'audio_bitmask' : 233,
'bframes' : 3,
'bitrate_mode' : 1,
# 'bitrate' : 4000000,
'bitrate' : 6500000,
# 'bitrate_peak' : 4000000,
'bitrate_peak' : 10000000,
'dnr_mode' : 0,
'dnr_spatial' : 0,
'dnr_temporal' : 0,
'dnr_type' : 0,
'framerate' : 0,
'framespergop' : 15,
'gop_closure' : 1,
'pulldown' : 0,
# 'stream_type' : 10,
'stream_type' : 14,
}
Original values commented out.
Anyway together with the boring white ripple at the
top, I also have another weirdnes on the captured data.
The picture is kindof shifting up/down, just a tiny bit,
at a freq of about twice/sec. Odd.
The dnr_ options above look kinda interesting. It's not
that easy to figure out what they actually do though:
There's a blurb about them in ivtv/doc/video-quality.txt
saying something about denoise3d or hqdn3d filter ... uhhh
