I have a working gentoo linux system with directfb and mplayer emerged. I have a matrox G400 AGP card in an intel i440BX chipset AGP slot, with RGB tv out attached. My kernel has matrox acceelration built-in but matrox-maven is intentionally a module-only so that directfb can control the TV-out.
I am finding that programs like dfbsee simply will not display things like images on the TV-- they give some kind of 'unsupported format' sort of thing for that layer. I am using some options in directfbrc -- which I think are:- "matrox-cable-type=scart-rgb" "matrox-crtc2" "primary-layer=2" As far as I understand, the G400's first internal display head supports acceleration but the second does NOT -- and the second physical output is the only head that supports maven TV-out. I am wondering if directfb should be reconfigured so that the primary internal head/controller is connected to the TV-out ??? I do not know what I need to make mythtv or freevo work on gentoo though -- like how on earth I configure it to work with TV listings for UK! btw. -- I have a bt848 TV capture card, I think. I would really like to get a digital/freeview TV reciever card, but I don't know what to get for freevo+linux to work well. Somebody please point me in the right way for 'getting started'! -enyc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
