Thsi is a long shot, but I could have something to do with mmpython?
One problem with mmpython that I've, which might relate to this (as of
recently) was that a required directory in the Makefile doesn't download
form the cvs. This is very odd.
I had to create the directory manually (./misc) and download the missing
files from sourceforge webcvs pages (__init__.py and xmlinfo.py).
After that mmpython compiled, and I got the truly outragously satisfactory
vizualisations working fine.

Du you use the runtime? Did you install Freevo to /usr or do you run
it from a directory?
