Yes, my point (which I did not declare correctly/at all ;-) was that we need
to know how to record off the timeshifted stream, how to find the position
to start *in* the stream.  Like if we have a recording coming up,
recordserver take control of the stream and blit somthing via bmovl2 to say
"bad luck, i just took over this stream,you are now stuck watching chanel X
until $finish_time".

ie, if you walkaway from freevo when in a timshift pause.. its very likely
you would still want your recording to go ahead.  I just upgraded to v4l2 so
bttv can now have its chanel changed during a capture, but I don't know if
its going to be possible for the other formats (like the 250/350 things and
DVB/T/S).

I just wanted to make sure these things were discussed early on.. This being
said, i'm sure we would all be happy just to *have* timeshifting first..
then make   recordserver work around it, or kill the buffer and start its
recordings normally..
