I'm also using a DXR3 card connected to a 5 metre S-video cable, then an AV amp, then a 10 metre S-video lead into my telly. This gives me a perfect picture (ok so it's only a 24' widescreen set, perhaps not big enough to see some problems with the image).
(btw both leads are reasonable quaity, the 5m is a q-max (or something - cost about 25 quid) and the 10m is a profigold, 20 quid from http://audiovisualonline.co.uk - cheapest place I could find) Anyway the interesting thing (I think) is that I've also got a tivo connected directly to the tv with a 1m scart using RGB and the picture quality is NOTHING like as good as that from the freevo*. (tivo is set to highest quality) I know this is not a very sientific test since the tivo has to re-encode the mpeg from the settop box that already be de-coded once but hey :) * freevo's source is a DTV card (nova-t) Sal > I happened to still have an old DRX3 card.
