I had a few things wrong. One was exactly liek you mentioned. I had
permissions right on the file freevo was trying to access, but not the
directory. I fixed that and freevo stoped crashing. Then i noticed that my
tv tuner card was not working. I re-compiled my kernel, got the card
recognized, downloaded and ran scantv and xawtv to make sure the card works.
It works, but not getting video in freevo still. I'm going to play around
with settings more and if i hit a roadblock i'll ask you guys. Thanks again
